Aufguss Basics is the foundational Aufguss Roots USA course for learning how to create and deliver a complete, intentional Aufguss experience.

Across 2.5 days, participants are introduced to the culture and traditions of Sauna and Aufguss, the responsibilities of the Aufguss/Sauna Master, guest care, heat and humidity, aroma, ritual structure, presentation, and practical delivery. Waving is included as a fundamental part of the course—not as choreography, but as a functional tool for moving air, developing heat, and shaping the guest experience.

Introductory Waving
Aufguss Basics includes dedicated introductory waving practice. Participants are introduced to the Basic Grip, Helicopter, Parachute, Side Flag, and Back-Hand, along with simple transitions between movements.

The goal is functional understanding and usable beginnings—not technical perfection or advanced choreography. Dedicated waving courses are where these skills are refined further.

Practical Experience
The course combines theory, instructor demonstrations, video analysis, aroma work, practical exercises, instructor-led Aufgüsse, and hands-on practice. On the final day, participants prepare and conduct a Basic Aufguss individually or in small teams, followed by immediate feedback and discussion.

Course Outcomes
By the end of the course, participants should be able to:

• Understand the cultural and practical foundations of Sauna and Aufguss
• Understand the responsibilities of an Aufguss/Sauna Master toward guests, hygiene, heat, and organization
• Use aroma and essential oils at a foundational, intentional level
• Structure, introduce, and conduct a simple Basic Aufguss
• Understand how functional waving supports an Aufguss and where dedicated waving training begins

Education Pathway
Aufguss Basics is a complete standalone introductory course. Waving Basics 1 is not required to attend or complete Aufguss Basics; however, both courses are foundational components of the Aufguss Roots USA education pathway.
